Netanyahu claims to have approved of the pager strikes in Lebanon.
Hezbollah has earlier pledged retaliation and blamed its arch-enemy for the explosions that inflicted the Iran-backed terrorist group a serious setback.

The first time Israel has acknowledged its role in the September attack on Hezbollah communications devices that exploded in Lebanon, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday, November 10, 2024, that he approved the attack.
Hezbollah had earlier pledged retaliation and blamed its arch-enemy for the explosions that delivered a serious damage to the armed group supported by Iran.
Regarding the strikes, his spokesperson Omer Dostri told AFP, "Mr. Netanyahu confirmed Sunday that he greenlighted the pager operation in Lebanon."
In mid-September, Hezbollah operatives' handheld devices exploded twice in a succession in stores, on the streets, and at funerals.
They took place before Israel's current military campaign in Lebanon and resulted in about 40 fatalities and approximately 3,000 injuries.
After its ally attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, which led to the Gaza war, Hezbollah launched low-intensity attacks on Israel in favor of Hamas.
Since the war in Lebanon began in late September, when Israel expanded its air assault against Hezbollah and then pushed ground soldiers into south Lebanon, strikes have become more intense.
