When Pakistan's AQI surpasses 2100, Punjab closes its parks and schools.

According to an ARY News story on Friday, Pakistan kept setting new records for air pollution, with seven of its cities ranking first on the list of the most polluted cities worldwide.

With an Air Quality Index (AQI) score of 2,135, Multan had dangerously high air quality, while Lahore came in second (676).

When Lahore topped a real-time list of the world's most polluted cities on Sunday, recording its highest-ever pollution levels of 1,900 near the Pakistan-India border on Saturday, Pakistan had just a week before accused India of being to fault.

The Pakistani government must act due to pollution.
Only after air pollution reached dangerous levels did the Pakistani Punjab province government take decisive action, closing schools, museums, and amusement parks for ten days, from November 8 to November 17, according to ARY News.

Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Gujarat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Chiniot, Jhang, and Toba Tek Singh are among the areas that were impacted by the restriction, according to the news source.

Predictions of worsening haze conditions required by low wind speeds between Lahore and Multan indicate that the pollution problem will only become worse next week.
Multan, Lahore, Peshawar, Islamabad, Haripur, Rawalpindi, and Karachi are a few cities with dangerously low air quality.
