"Ananta," Google's largest office in India, opens in Bengaluru: Five things to be aware of
On February 19, search engine giant Google announced the opening of its new Bengaluru campus, "Ananta." It is said that Ananta is one of Google's biggest headquarters worldwide.
"With the opening of Ananta, one of Google's largest offices worldwide, we are thrilled to share another significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to India today," the company wrote in a blog post.
Through AI-powered flood predictions, specialized AI models to detect tuberculosis early, and assisting millions of individuals in entering the formal sector through Google Pay, among other initiatives, Google claimed to have contributed to greater transformation for the past 20 years.
Here are five essential facts regarding Google's biggest office in India, Ananta.
The importance of Ananta
"Ananta," the name of the new Bengaluru campus, is a Sanskrit term that means "infinite" or "limitless." According to Google's blog, "it also signifies the boundless potential we see to improve lives through technology."
intended to establish a connection
The structure is made to let in more natural light and enhance views. Teams can gather in a "intimate layout" created by Ananta's architecture. "Sabha," a community and conversational meeting place, is located in the center of the building.
Neighborhood and city grid
In Ananta, every floor has been planned like a city grid with a system of roadways for convenient access. Individual "neighbourhoods" inside these grids enable the need to concentrate on smaller booths and nooks while simultaneously providing opportunities for collaboration.
Calm and easy access
Ananta's vast landscaping and jogging and walking routes make it the perfect place for quick meetings and quiet breaks while on the road. Additionally, the structure was specifically created with the blind and visually disabled in mind. It has braille details, accessible amenities, and new tactile flooring that helps the blind and visually handicapped navigate.
Sustainability everywhere
Ananta's design incorporates elements that lessen its impact on the environment and support the ecosystem's equilibrium. The recently constructed campus boasts one of the biggest smart glass installations in India to cut down on energy use, recycles all of its effluent, and has the capacity to collect liters of rainfall on-site. Local suppliers provide the majority of the building's interior materials.
