The BSE Sensex surged more than 1,000 points and the Nifty50 closed above 24,300 on Monday, as Indian benchmark indices ended the day more than 1% higher. Heavyweight Reliance Industries spearheaded the surge on the release of better-than-expected earnings, and ongoing foreign inflows further improved market sentiment.

The wider NSE Nifty gained 289 points, or 1.2%, to close at 24,328, while the 30-share BSE Sensex surged 1,005.8 points, or 1.27%, to conclude at 80,218, as well.

Around 12:20 pm, the Nifty50 gained around 300 points to trade above the 24,300 level, while the BSE Sensex increased by more than 1,000 points, or 1%, to trade above the 80,200 level.
All listed businesses' market capitalization increased by Rs 2.9 lakh crore to Rs 424.46 lakh crore on the BSE.

Strong market mood was indicated by the fact that the broader market indices were likewise consistently in the green.

HCL Tech, Nestle India, Maruti Suzuki, Asian Paints, and UltraTech Cement all saw losses during trading, while Reliance Industries, M&M, SBI, and ICICI Bank opened 1-2 percent higher from the Sensex pack.

The largest gainer was Reliance Industries, which reported a fourth-quarter profit that exceeded forecasts due to robust expansion in its digital services and retail divisions.

All sectoral indexes, with the exception of Nifty IT, saw gains of more than 1%, with the Nifty PSU Bank, Consumer Durables, Oil & Gas, and Private Bank indices leading the way.
