In FY25, India's total exports increased by 6.01% to a record $824.9 billion.
India's commerce and industry ministry said Friday that the country's total exports, which are primarily driven by services exports, reached an all-time high of $824.9 billion in FY25 and increased 6% year over year.
In FY25, services exports hit a "historic high" of $387.5 billion, up 13.6% over FY24's $341.1 billion.
"Services exports for March 2025 totaled $35.6 billion, representing an 18.6% year-over-year increase from $30 billion in March 2024," the ministry stated.
Petroleum-free merchandise exports reached a record US$374.1 billion in 2024–2025, up 6% over FY24's $352.9 billion, the largest yearly non-petroleum merchandise exports ever.
India's goods exports increased 0.7% year-over-year to $41.97 billion in March, according to data released last month. This brings the total FY25 merchandise exports to $437.42 billion, which is 0.08% more than FY24.
Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal had previously stated that "the last financial year was difficult with so many things happening around the world." He also added that despite these global issues, item shipments and total exports reached the "highest" ever levels in 2024–2025.
In total, India's goods trade deficit increased from $241.14 billion in FY24 to $282.82 billion in FY25.
