According to Radhika Apte, the movie business isn't "conducive" to new mothers: "The period of time that we don't see the child"
Following calls for more family time from Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan, Radhika Apte acknowledges that, as a new mother, she is unsure of how to handle the movie business.
Radhika Apte is the most recent actor to advocate for more family time, following Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan. She told IE that she doesn't know how to handle her career at the moment and that the film industry isn't particularly "conducive" to new mothers like her.
Radhika Apte on parenthood and the film industry
"I don't think they are," Radhika responded when asked if the film industry is supportive of new mothers like herself. I'm not sure how I'll handle that in the future. This follows rumors that Deepika recently declined to work on Prabhas's Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, as her demands for an 8-hour workweek and a better compensation package were not fulfilled. Saif also promoted putting family time first, and Ajay Devgn and Kajol openly backed her.
"It's really difficult to work in our film industry, given the number of hours and how we film generally, and the time for which we don't get to see the child," Radhika said, claiming that juggling her career and new motherhood was challenging. I suppose I'll just need to work things out now. It's made more challenging by the fact that the actress has been alternating between Mumbai and London for some time.
Regarding motherhood, Radhika Apte
Radhika, who gave birth to a child in December of last year, recently talked candidly with ANI about the highs and lows of her emotional journey. "I was actually really ready for postpartum," she added. Additionally, I had ensured that my friends and family knew they needed to support me in the event that I experienced postpartum depression. When I became a parent, I was genuinely thrilled, much to my own surprise. Additionally, I was lucky to never experience serious depression. Benedict Taylor, a musician, is her spouse.
