The districts of Sviatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi were affected by the explosions.
Following the incident, a nine-story residential structure in the Solomianskyi area collapsed and caught fire, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced on Telegram. According to him, a children's hospital in the area was also damaged, with cars burning on the property and windows broken.
He went on to say that parts of the Sviatoshynskyi and Solomianskyi districts were also without electricity, and that "people are trapped" at another residential building.
According to Ukraine's Emergency Services, the "massive attack" on the capital resulted in at least 33 injuries, with warehouses and residential buildings catching fire.
It stated that at least two persons had been rescued from the debris of collapsed buildings as rescuers were at the scene of the attacks.
Tymur Tkachenko, the governor of the Kyiv region, reported that one person was murdered and another injured in an incident in the Brovary neighborhood.
"There has been damage to one industrial plant. Tkachenko continued, "All pertinent services are present and working to put out the fire.
