Elise Stefanik is appointed ambassador to the United Nations by President-elect Donald Trump.

Those who held the position during Mr. Trump's first term included Nikki Haley, who ran against him for the GOP nomination.




Rep. Elise Stefanik has been selected by President-elect Donald Trump to be his ambassador to the UN.
In a statement announcing his choice on Monday, November 11, 2024, Mr. Trump said, "Elise is an America First fighter who is exceptionally strong, tough, and intelligent."

Those who held the position during Mr. Trump's first term included Nikki Haley, who ran against him for the GOP nomination.

One of Mr. Trump's most devoted supporters in the House, Ms. Stefanik, 40, is the chair of the House Republican Conference and was mentioned as a possible vice presidential candidate.
